Start your day with an exhilarating trek to Chembra Peak, the highest peak in Wayanad. The 4km trek takes about 3-4 hours but the panoramic views of the surrounding hills and the heart-shaped lake at the summit make it all worth it. You can also go camping overnight at the peak with prior permission from the Forest Department. Don't forget to carry water, snacks and wear sturdy shoes for the trek.
On day 2, head to Thusharagiri Waterfalls, a popular spot for trekking and rock climbing amidst the serene surroundings. You can trek to the top of the waterfall which consists of three tiers, each with a pool for swimming. The trek takes around 2 hours and is suitable for all age groups, but be cautious during the monsoon season. You can also enjoy zip-lining and rope bridge activities at the waterfalls.
Wayanad is also home to several other adventure activities such as kayaking, rafting, and camping. The Banasura Sagar Dam, Kuruva Island, and Pakshipathalam Bird Sanctuary are some other popular attractions worth visiting. To maximize your fun, plan your itinerary according to the weather and carry suitable clothing and gear. Don't forget to try the local cuisine and indulge in some shopping for souvenirs.
