2-Day Nature Itinerary in Coorg in June 2023

  1. Day 1: Abbey Falls
    30 minutes (8.6 km) from Madikeri

    Begin your nature adventure in Coorg with a visit to Abbott Mount, a picturesque waterfall surrounded by lush greenery. Take a leisurely walk to the falls and enjoy the serene surroundings.   2. Day 1: Dubare Elephant Camp
    1 hour (25 km) from Abbey Falls

    Continue your nature-themed day with a visit to the Dubare Elephant Camp, a conservation sanctuary for elephants located on the banks of the river Cauvery. Here, you can observe and learn about the behavior of elephants, bathe and feed them, and even take an elephant ride. Be sure to book in advance as this is a popular attraction.

  3. Day 2: Talacauvery and Bhagamandala
    1.5 hours (45 km) from Dubare Elephant Camp

    Start your second day with a visit to Talacauvery, the birthplace of the River Cauvery, which is considered a sacred site by Hindus. You will be rewarded with breathtaking views of the surrounding hills and the river. Afterward, head to Bhagamandala, a town located at the confluence of three rivers, where you can visit the Bhagandeshwara Temple and take a dip in the holy waters.

  4. Day 2: Nisargadhama
    1 hour (30 km) from Talacauvery and Bhagamandala

    Finish your trip with a visit to the Nisargadhama Nature Park, a sprawling 64-acre park that includes a deer park, orchidarium, and an elephant sanctuary. Take a walk through the bamboo forests, go boating or zip lining across the river, and enjoy a picnic lunch at one of the many scenic spots in the park.
