3-Day Itinerary for Kodaikanal in June 2023

  1. Day 1: Coaker's Walk
    10 minutes (1.3 miles) from Kodaikanal Bus Stand

    Coaker's Walk is a scenic one-kilometer paved pedestrian path along the edge of steep slopes on the southern side of Kodai. The walk offers stunning panoramic views of the surrounding hills and valleys, and on a clear day, you can see as far as the Vaigai Dam. The path is named after Lt. Coaker, who constructed it in 1872. Early morning or late evening is the best time to visit Coaker's Walk to enjoy the beautiful sunrise or sunset views.

  2. Day 2: Pine Forest
    20 minutes (5.3 miles) from Coaker's Walk

    Kodaikanal Pine Forest is a dense forest located between the town of Kodai and the Villpatti village. The forest is famous for walking, trekking, and horse riding. It offers a tranquil and peaceful atmosphere to the visitors. It is also a popular location for several movies and music videos. The pine trees here stand tall and firm, giving a stunning view of the surroundings. Visitors can take leisurely walks through the forest or hire horses to explore the area.

  3. Day 3: Berijam Lake
    1 hour 30 minutes (12.6 miles) from Pine Forest

    Berijam Lake is located in the middle of a reserved forest area and is considered one of the most beautiful lakes in South India. It is located at a height of over 5,000 feet and offers magnificent views of the surrounding hills and valleys. The lake provides drinking water to the nearby villages and towns. Tourists need prior permission from the forest department to visit Berijam Lake. The lake is closed on Tuesdays, and only a limited number of vehicles are allowed to enter the forest area.
