Exploring Ooty in June 2023

  1. Day 1: Visit the Botanical Garden

    Start your day 1 itinerary by visiting the Botanical Garden, which is spread over 55 acres and is home to a variety of plants and trees. The garden has a fossilized tree trunk that is said to be over 20 million years old. You can also enjoy a small train ride in the garden, which will take you through different sections of the park. The garden also has a Toda Tribal Hut, which displays the lifestyle and culture of the Toda tribe who are the indigenous tribe from the Nilgiris.

  2. Day 1: Doddabetta Peak
    20 minutes (9km) from the Botanical Garden

    Next, head over to Doddabetta Peak, which is the highest mountain in the Nilgiris. The peak offers a stunning panoramic view of the surrounding valleys and mountains. It is advisable to carry a light sweater or jacket as it can get chilly at the peak. The peak also has a telescope house where you can get a closer look at the surrounding scenery.
