Family-Friendly 3-Day Itinerary for Coorg in August 2023

  1. Day 1: Abbey Falls

    Abbey Falls is a popular tourist destination in Coorg and is located in a coffee and spice plantation. The waterfall cascades from a height of 70 feet and offers a breathtaking view of the surrounding greenery. There is a hanging bridge near the waterfall which gives an excellent view of the falls from different angles. The best time to visit is during the monsoon season when the waterfall is at its full glory.

  2. Day 2: Dubare Elephant Camp
    50 minutes (33.7 km) from Abbey Falls

    Dubare Elephant Camp is an exciting place to visit for kids and adults alike. You can watch elephants being bathed by their mahouts, learn about their daily routines and habits and even feed them. You can also go on an elephant ride or coracle ride in the nearby river. This camp is run by the forest department and is dedicated to conserving and protecting elephants.

  3. Day 3: Talakaveri
    2 hours 29 minutes (82.6 km) from Dubare Elephant Camp

    Talakaveri is the birthplace of the Kaveri River, which is a significant river in South India. There is a temple dedicated to Goddess Kaveriamma, and a holy tank where the river is said to originate from. The view from the top of the hill is stunning, and there are many trekking trails for those who want to explore the area further. The best time to visit is during the monsoon season when the area is lush and green.
