Magens Bay Beach is a breathtakingly beautiful one-mile stretch of beach situated on the north coast of St. Thomas. Coral World Ocean Park is home to various marine creatures such as sea lions, turtles, and sharks. This park offers an opportunity to get up close with these marine animals as well as learn about their natural habitat. The park offers interactive exhibits such as the touch tank and the Sea Trek Helmet Dive where visitors can experience walking underwater.
Mountain Top is the highest point on St. Thomas, boasting breathtaking views of the Caribbean. This is a great location to grab a drink at the bar, do some shopping, and take some Instagram-worthy pictures.
Blackbeard's Castle is a historic site that dates back to the 17th century. The castle offers tours of the historic property, and you can see the famous tower that was used to defend the harbor of Charlotte Amalie against invaders. The site also offers beautiful gardens to explore.
A yacht charter to Buck Island National Wildlife Refuge is a great way to cap off your trip in St. Thomas. This refuge is a beautiful national park located on a small island where visitors can snorkel or dive with turtles, barracuda, and other marine life. Public transportation on St. Thomas is limited, so renting a car is recommended for ease of mobility during your trip. A standard car rental ranges from $35-$50 a day. Taxi services are also available but can be expensive. Ride-sharing services such as Uber and Lyft are not currently available on St. Thomas.
If you have extra time on your trip, consider adding a day trip to St. John Island via ferry. Alternatively, if you have less time, you can skip Coral World Ocean Park and spend more time at Magens Bay Beach, Mountain Top, or Blackbeard's Castle.
Cyril E. King International Airport (STT) is the primary airport on St. Thomas. It is located on the southwestern side of the island, just outside of Charlotte Amalie, the capital city of the U.S. Virgin Islands. The airport is approximately 20 minutes from Magens Bay Beach by car.
