4-Day Adventure Itinerary in Kedarnath in October 2023

  1. Day 1: Visit Kedarnath Temple

    Evening: Take a dip in the natural hot water spring at Gaurikund, which is believed to have medicinal properties. The water temperature can go up to 45-degree Celsius, so be cautious.

  2. Day 2: Trek to Vasuki Tal
    Located in Kedarnath
    Distance from Kedarnath Temple: 8 km (5 hours trek)

    Morning: Trek to Vasuki Tal, a high altitude lake located at a height of 14,200 feet. The trek offers mesmerizing views of the Himalayan ranges and the Kedarnath valley.

    Afternoon: Enjoy a packed lunch at Vasuki Tal and explore the surroundings.

    Evening: Trek down to Kedarnath and relax at your hotel.

  3. Day 3: Visit Triyuginarayan Temple and Chandrashila Peak

Recommendations

If you have an extra day, you can visit the Sonprayag, which is located at a distance of 20 km from Kedarnath. It is believed to be the place where Lord Shiva appeared in front of Goddess Parvati for the first time. You can also visit the Kedarnath Wildlife Sanctuary, which is known for its diverse flora and fauna.

To maximize your fun, carry a good pair of trekking shoes, warm clothes, a raincoat, and a first aid kit. Also, carry a water bottle and some snacks for energy during treks. Ensure you have enough cash with you as there are limited ATMs in the area.
