Two-Day Itinerary for Coorg in June 2023

  1. Day 1: Abbey falls
20 minutes (8 km) from Madikeri

Abbey Falls is a popular tourist attraction in Coorg. The best time to visit is in the morning, when the weather is cooler and there are fewer visitors. You can take a short walk through the coffee plantations to reach the falls. The sound of the water cascading down the rocks is soothing and refreshing. Spend some time taking pictures and enjoying the scenery. Afternoon: Head to Raja's Seat to enjoy panoramic views of the valley. The garden surrounding the viewpoint is well maintained and a great place to relax. Evening: Visit Omkareshwara Temple, a beautiful blend of Islamic and Gothic architecture. It is a peaceful place to spend some time and soak in the culture.

  2. Day 2: Dubare Elephant Camp
1 hour 20 minutes (45 km) from Madikeri

The Dubare Elephant Camp is a must-visit destination for animal lovers. You can watch the elephants up close, bathe them, and take a ride on them. You can also learn about the camp's conservation efforts. Morning: Take a boat ride in the Cauvery river, which is right next to the camp. It is a great way to enjoy the natural beauty of the place. Afternoon: Visit the Nisargadhama Forest, a beautiful island surrounded by the Cauvery river. You can take a walk around the island, enjoy the deer park and the hanging bridge. Evening: Head back to Madikeri and spend some time shopping for local handicrafts and souvenirs.
