4-Day Family Friendly Itinerary for Amritsar in January 2024

  1. Day 1: Golden Temple
    15 minutes (3.5 km) from Sri Guru Ram Dass Jee International Airport

    In the morning, visit the iconic Golden Temple which is the most significant religious site of Sikhism.   2. Day 2: Jallianwala Bagh and Partition Museum

    Morning visit to Jallianwala Bagh, the site of the 1919 mass shooting of peaceful protestors. Walk through the garden and pay your respects to the martyrs. In the afternoon, visit Gobindgarh Fort which is steeped in history and has been recently restored as a cultural and entertainment hub. In the evening, stroll around the bustling Lawrence Road and enjoy some street food.

  4. Day 4: Maharaja Ranjit Singh Museum and Ram Tirath Temple
    20 minutes (10 km) from Golden Temple

    In the morning, visit the Maharaja Ranjit Singh Museum which is dedicated to the life of the legendary Sikh leader. The museum houses a collection of weapons, paintings, and artifacts from the Sikh Empire. In the afternoon, head to the Ram Tirath Temple which is believed to be the site where Goddess Sita gave birth to her twin sons Luv and Kush. The temple also has a sacred pool and a museum showcasing the history of the Ramayana. In the evening, shop for souvenirs at the Hall Bazaar which is famous for its traditional handicrafts and textiles.
