Kodaikanal 2-Day Itinerary - June 2023

  1. Day 1: Coakers Walk
    10 minutes (2.3 km) from Kodaikanal Bus Stand

    In the morning, take a relaxing stroll on Coakers Walk while enjoying the beautiful views of the valley. This 1-kilometre paved pedestrian path is surrounded by lush greenery and offers breathtaking views of the hills, valleys, and forests. In the afternoon, visit the Kodaikanal Lake, a man-made lake surrounded by hills. Here, you can enjoy boating, cycling, and horse riding. If you're feeling adventurous, try the zipline and rope courses. In the evening, visit the Bryant Park, a botanical garden that houses a variety of plants, flowers, and trees. You can also enjoy a light and sound show here.

  2. Day 2: Pillar Rocks
    25 minutes (7.6 km) from Kodaikanal Bus Stand

    Start your day by visiting the Pillar Rocks, a set of three giant rock pillars standing tall at a height of 400 feet. From here, you can enjoy a panoramic view of the surrounding hills and valleys. In the afternoon, visit the Silver Cascade Falls, a scenic waterfall located on the way to Madurai. You can enjoy a refreshing bath in the cool waters of the falls. In the evening, visit the Kurinji Andavar Temple, a popular temple that is dedicated to Lord Murugan. The temple is famous for its Kurinji flowers that bloom once in 12 years.

If you have an extra day, consider visiting the Berijam Lake, a picturesque lake located in the midst of dense forests. You can also visit the Bear Shola Falls, a popular waterfall that is said to be a favourite spot for bears. For foodies, there are many local restaurants that serve traditional Tamil cuisine, such as dosa, idli, and sambar. To maximise your fun, try to participate in the many cultural festivals that take place in Kodaikanal, such as the Pongal festival in January and the Natyanjali Dance Festival in February.
