Two-Day Itinerary for Araku in June 2023

  1. Day 1: Borra Caves
    24 minutes (11.5 km) from Araku

    In the morning, visit the Borra Caves, the largest and deepest cave system in India. Marvel at the stalactites and stalagmites that have formed over millions of years. In the afternoon, take a stroll around the Katiki Waterfalls. In the evening, enjoy a cup of Araku coffee at a local coffee plantation.

  2. Day 2: Tyda Nature Camp
    1 hour 11 minutes (43.2 km) from Araku

    In the morning, head to the Tyda Nature Camp for a day of adventure. Enjoy activities like trekking, bird watching, and zip-lining. In the afternoon, visit the Dumbriguda Waterfalls for a refreshing swim. In the evening, head to the Tribal Museum to learn about the local tribes of the region.

Recommendations

If you have time, visit the Araku Tribal Museum, Ananthagiri Waterfalls and Padmapuram Gardens. You can also take a train ride on the scenic Kothavalasa–Kirandul railway line which passes through some of the most picturesque landscapes of the Araku Valley. For food, try the local bamboo chicken, a popular delicacy.
