3-Day Family-Friendly Pune Itinerary in July 2023

  1. Day 1: Aga Khan Palace
    20 minutes (6.8 km) from Pune Airport

    In the morning, visit the Aga Khan Palace, built-in 1892. The palace has historical significance as it served as a prison for Mahatma Gandhi and his wife during India's independence struggle. You can take a guided tour of the palace and see the various exhibits on display. In the afternoon, head to the Osho Ashram, a spiritual center, where you can take meditation and yoga classes. End your day with a visit to the nearby Darshan Museum, which showcases the life and teachings of the revered saint, Sadhu Vaswani.

  2. Day 2: Shaniwar Wada Fort
    15 minutes (5.5 km) from Aga Khan Palace

    Start your day by visiting the historic Shaniwar Wada Fort, built-in 1732. The fort has a beautiful garden and fountain, and a light and sound show in the evening. Afterward, head to the Raja Dinkar Kelkar Museum, which houses an impressive collection of Indian art and artifacts, including a 2000-year-old pottery collection. In the evening, visit the famous Dagdusheth Halwai Ganpati Temple, dedicated to Lord Ganesha, and participate in the evening aarti.

  3. Day 3: Sinhagad Fort
    40 minutes (30 km) from Shaniwar Wada Fort

    On your last day, take a scenic drive to Sinhagad Fort, located on a hilltop. The fort has a rich history and offers stunning views of the surrounding landscape. You can also enjoy a variety of street food near the fort. Afterward, head to the nearby Khadakwasla Dam and Lake, which is a popular spot for boating and picnicking. End your day with a visit to the Rajiv Gandhi Zoological Park, which houses a variety of animals and is a great place for families.
