Most activities are within walking distance in Puerto Vallarta, but a taxi or bus may be necessary for longer journeys. Public buses are cheap and run frequently, but may be crowded. Taxis are more expensive but offer more direct transportation. A rental car is also an option but be aware of driving conditions and local laws. Taxis from the airport to the city centre cost around £15 and take around 30 minutes.
If you have more time, add a day trip to the charming colonial town of San Sebastian, or take a tequila tasting tour. If you have less time, cut out the Vallarta Botanical Gardens or the Marietas Islands boat tour. Remember to pack sunscreen, insect repellent, and comfortable footwear for activities like hiking and ziplining.
