7-Day Adventure Itinerary for Coorg in August 2023

  1. Day 1: Dubare Elephant Camp
    30 minutes (15 miles) from Madikeri

    Get up close and personal with elephants on a guided tour. Feed and bathe these gentle giants in the morning and go for a coracle ride in the afternoon.

  2. Day 2: Tadiandamol Peak
    1 hour 40 minutes (35 miles) from Dubare Elephant Camp

    Start early to trek the highest peak in Coorg. The 10km trail offers stunning views of the Western Ghats. Pack a picnic lunch and relax at the summit before descending.

  3. Day 3: Iruppu Falls and Brahmagiri Peak
    1 hour 20 minutes (40 miles) from Tadiandamol Peak

    Visit the sacred Iruppu Falls in the morning and take a dip in the refreshing waters. After lunch, hike to Brahmagiri Peak for panoramic views of the surrounding hills.

  4. Day 4: Barapole River Rafting
    1 hour 30 minutes (50 miles) from Iruppu Falls

    Experience the thrill of white water rafting on the Barapole River. Trained guides will take groups on a two-hour adventure through Class III and IV rapids. Dry clothes and hot lunch are provided.

  5. Day 5: Pushpagiri Wildlife Sanctuary

    Explore the diverse flora and fauna of the Pushpagiri Wildlife Sanctuary. Trekking trails vary from easy to difficult and offer sightings of rare birds, langurs, leopards and deer.

  6. Day 6: Abbey Falls and Bylakuppe Tibetan Settlement
    1 hour (25 miles) from Pushpagiri Wildlife Sanctuary

    Visit the picturesque Abbey Falls in the morning. After lunch, head to Bylakuppe Tibetan Settlement to witness the rich Tibetan culture. Spot the Golden Temple and shop for souvenirs.

  7. Day 7: Nishani Motte Trek
    1 hour 30 minutes (35 miles) from Bylakuppe Tibetan Settlement

    End the adventure with a trek to Nishani Motte. The 15km trail is challenging but rewarding with stunning views of the valley and coffee plantations. Have a local lunch before returning.
