3-Day Nature Itinerary in Coorg - June 2023

  1. Day 1: Abbey Falls
    20 minutes (6.2 miles) from Madikeri

    In the morning, head to Abbey Falls for a refreshing start to your nature tour. The falls are at their best during the monsoon season, so you're in luck if you're visiting in June. The lush greenery surrounding the falls and the thundering sound of water make for a spectacular sight. Take a short trek to the hanging bridge for a panoramic view. In the afternoon, visit the nearby Raja's Seat for a beautiful sunset view. It's a garden with a refreshing atmosphere, perfect for a relaxed evening. At night, try a traditional Coorg cuisine at the nearby restaurants.

  2. Day 2: Nagarhole National Park and Iruppu Falls
    1 hour 50 minutes (53 miles) from Madikeri

    Start your day early and head to Nagarhole National Park for a wildlife safari. The park is home to various species of animals like tigers, leopards, elephants, and deer. After the safari, take a 2-hour drive to Iruppu Falls. This waterfall is surrounded by dense forest, and the view is worth the trek. Take a refreshing dip in the waterfall before heading back to Madikeri. In the evening, visit the Madikeri Fort, which was built in the 17th century and has a beautiful view of the city.

  3. Day 3: Dubare Elephant Camp and Bylakuppe
    1 hour 40 minutes (50 miles) from Madikeri

    Start your day by visiting the Dubare Elephant Camp, where you can see elephants bathing and feeding. You can also take a short elephant ride to explore the nearby jungle. After that, head to Bylakuppe, which is home to the Namdroling Monastery. This monastery has a beautiful golden temple and is the largest Tibetan settlement in India. After exploring the monastery, head back to Madikeri and visit the coffee plantations in the evening. Coorg is known for its coffee, and you can get a taste of it at the nearby coffee shops.
