2-Day Nature Itinerary in Kodaikanal in June 2023

  1. Day 1: Coakers Walk
    10 minutes (2.3 km) from Kodaikanal Bus Stand

    Get an early start and take a stroll on Coakers Walk, a scenic one-kilometer pathway overlooking valleys, mountains and lush forests. In the morning, the mist clears up to reveal beautiful views of the surrounding hills and the distant Palani Hills. Take a break at a viewpoint and sip on some hot tea while taking in the stunning scenery. In the afternoon, visit the nearby Bryant Park, which is home to many colourful varieties of flowers and plants. Take a relaxing walk, have a picnic or just enjoy a book under a tree. In the evening, head to Kodaikanal Lake for a tranquil boat ride.

  2. Day 2: Berijam Lake
    1 hour 30 minutes (23 km) from Kodaikanal Bus Stand

    Start your day early and drive to Berijam Lake, a serene and peaceful lake surrounded by dense forest. The lake is a source of drinking water for the nearby villages and is strictly regulated by the Forest Department. You will need a permit from the forest authorities to visit the lake. In the morning, take a leisurely walk around the lake and enjoy the peaceful surroundings. You can also go on a short trek in the nearby forest. In the afternoon, head to Pillar Rocks, a set of three giant rock pillars standing tall at over 400 feet. The view from the top is breathtaking and you can see the lush green valleys stretching out for miles. In the evening, head back to Kodaikanal and spend some time at the local market, shopping for souvenirs or trying some local cuisine.
