In the morning, visit the Kedarnath Temple, one of the twelve Jyotirlingas of Lord Shiva. The temple is located at an altitude of 3,583 meters and is accessible by a 14 km trek from Gaurikund. The temple is open from 6:00 am to 8:00 pm and offers stunning views of the surrounding Himalayan Mountains. In the afternoon, explore the town of Kedarnath and enjoy a traditional lunch at one of the local restaurants. In the evening, attend the evening aarti ceremony at the Kedarnath Temple, which is a beautiful and spiritual experience.
On day 2, visit Vasuki Tal, a beautiful high altitude lake surrounded by snowcapped mountains. The trek to Vasuki Tal is considered moderate to difficult and takes around 6-7 hours from Kedarnath. The best time to visit is from May to October. In the morning, start your trek early and enjoy the scenic beauty along the way. In the afternoon, have a picnic lunch at the lake and enjoy the serene surroundings. In the evening, head back to Kedarnath and relax at your hotel.
Other local attractions include the Gandhi Sarovar, a picturesque lake located at an altitude of 3,900 meters and the Adi Shankaracharya Samadhi, the final resting place of the 8th-century philosopher and theologian Adi Shankara.
If you have extra time, you can also consider visiting the nearby town of Guptkashi or taking a helicopter ride to enjoy the scenic beauty of the Himalayan Mountains from a different perspective.
