Relaxing Mathura Itinerary for June 2023

  1. Day 1: Krishna Janmabhoomi Temple
    5 minutes (0.5 km) from Mathura Junction Railway Station

    Start your day with a visit to the Krishna Janmabhoomi Temple, the birthplace of Lord Krishna. The temple complex also houses several other small temples. Afternoon, visit the Dwarkadhish Temple, one of the largest and most visited temples in Mathura. In the evening, head to the Vishram Ghat to witness the spectacular aarti ceremony on the banks of the Yamuna River.

  2. Day 2: Kusum Sarovar and Radha Kund
    30 minutes (14 km) from Mathura Junction Railway Station

    Visit the Kusum Sarovar, a beautiful tank surrounded by lush green trees and flowers, and take a relaxing stroll around the area. Next, visit the Radha Kund, a holy pond that is believed to be the place where Radha and Krishna used to meet. In the afternoon, explore the Government Museum Mathura, which houses an impressive collection of sculptures, coins, paintings, and artifacts dating back to the Kushana and Gupta periods.

  3. Day 3: Barsana and Nandgaon
    1 hour 20 minutes (42 km) from Mathura Junction Railway Station

    Head to Barsana, a town located on a hilltop, to visit the Radha Rani Temple and the Lathmar Holi Ground, where the famous Lathmar Holi festival is celebrated. Next, visit Nandgaon, the village where Lord Krishna spent his childhood, and explore the Nand Bhavan, which is believed to be Krishna's home. In the evening, take a walk around the local markets and indulge in some local street food.
