1. 10:00AM: Talakaveri
   1 hour 10 minutes (26 miles) from Madikeri

   Talakaveri is the birthplace of the river Kaveri. The site is marked by a small temple dedicated to Lord Brahma, and a Kundike (pond) that is considered to be the origin of the river.

2. 12:00PM: Abbey Falls
   30 minutes (8 miles) from Talakaveri

   A beautiful waterfall nestled in the mountains, Abbey Falls is a popular spot for tourists. The water cascades down from a height of 70 feet into a pool below, surrounded by lush greenery.

3. 1:30PM: Lunch at Raintree Restaurant
   15 minutes (3 miles) from Abbey Falls

   Enjoy a relaxing lunch at Raintree Restaurant, known for its delicious South Indian cuisine and serene ambiance. Try the Coorgi-style Pandi Curry or the Bamboo Shoot Curry.

4. 3:00PM: Dubare Elephant Camp
   40 minutes (16 miles) from Raintree Restaurant

   Experience a close encounter with elephants at Dubare Elephant Camp. Bathe, feed and even ride these gentle giants in the forest. You can also learn about elephant ecology and conservation.

5. 5:00PM: Sunset from Raja's Seat
   30 minutes (10 miles) from Dubare Elephant Camp

   End your relaxing day with a stunning view of the sunset from Raja's Seat, a viewing point that was once the favourite spot of the kings of Coorg. The view of the valley and the mountains is breathtaking.

Recommendations

If you have more time, consider visiting the Namdroling Monastery, also known as the Golden Temple, which is about an hour from Raja's Seat. You can also take a coffee plantation tour or go for a trekking in the Western Ghats. Don't forget to buy some fresh spices, honey and coffee as souvenirs.
