Begin your honeymoon by visiting the Kedarnath Temple, one of the most famous and sacred Hindu pilgrimage sites. You can attend the morning aarti (prayer) and seek blessings for your journey ahead. Take a walk around the temple and enjoy the beautiful scenery and fresh mountain air. In the afternoon, you can go for a nature walk and visit the Gandhi Sarovar, a beautiful lake situated at the base of the glaciers. In the evening, enjoy the local cuisine at one of the nearby restaurants.
Embark on an adventurous trek to the Vasuki Tal, a mesmerizing high altitude lake surrounded by the Himalayan peaks. The trek is of moderate difficulty and will take up most of your day, but the stunning views and the serene surroundings make it worth the effort. Carry some light snacks and water with you for the trek. In the evening, return to Kedarnath and spend some quality time with your partner.
Take a scenic drive to the Gaurikund and Sonprayag, two beautiful towns situated at the confluence of the Mandakini and Songanga rivers. The drive is quite adventurous as the roads are narrow, steep, and winding. In Gaurikund, you can take a dip in the hot springs, which are believed to have medicinal properties. In Sonprayag, visit the Triyuginarayan Temple, which is famous for being the place where Lord Shiva and Parvati got married.
Spend a day exploring the majestic Kedar Dome peak, which is located in the Gangotri Glacier region. Take a helicopter ride from Kedarnath to Gangotri and then embark on a trek to Kedar Dome. The trek is challenging and requires some prior experience in mountaineering, but the panoramic views of the Himalayas and the glacier are breathtaking. In the evening, return to Kedarnath and relax at your hotel.
On your last day, you can visit some of the local shops and marketplaces and buy some souvenirs to take back home. In the afternoon, check out from your hotel and take the helicopter back to Phata. From there, you can take a cab to your next destination.
Don't miss out on visiting the Shankaracharya Samadhi, located near the Kedarnath Temple. It is a sacred site where Adi Shankara is believed to have attained Mahasamadhi (final liberation). You can also take a day trip to Badrinath, another holy town located about 4 hours away from Kedarnath. The town is famous for its Badrinath Temple, hot springs, and scenic beauty.
