2-Day Cultural Immersion Itinerary in Vrindavan (June 2023)

  1. Day 1: Shri Banke Bihari Temple
    10 minutes (2.2 km) from Vrindavan Bus Stand

    In the morning, visit the Shri Banke Bihari Temple, a historic and vibrant temple dedicated to Lord Krishna. Experience the morning aarti ceremony which is quite popular among the devotees. The temple is known for its beautiful architecture, intricate carvings, and paintings. Afterward, take a walk to the nearby Kesi Ghat to see the Yamuna river. In the afternoon, visit the Radha Raman temple, established by Gopal Bhatta Goswami. It is one of the oldest temples in Vrindavan and houses an idol of Lord Krishna that was self-manifested from a shaligram shila. In the evening, take a stroll around the nearby market to try some delicious local street food and shop for handicrafts.

  2. Day 2: Prem Mandir
    15 minutes (3.5 km) from Shri Banke Bihari Temple

    On the second day, visit the stunning Prem Mandir in the morning. The temple is made of pure white marble and is dedicated to Lord Radha Krishna. It has breathtakingly beautiful architecture and is a must-visit for anyone visiting Vrindavan. Spend the afternoon at the ISKCON temple, also known as the Krishna-Balaram Mandir. The temple is dedicated to Lord Krishna and his brother Balaram and is one of the most popular temples in Vrindavan. It has a beautiful garden and a museum that showcases the life and teachings of Lord Krishna. In the evening, attend the evening aarti ceremony and enjoy the blissful atmosphere.

Recommendations

While in Vrindavan, you can also visit the Rangaji temple, Seva Kunj, and Nidhuban. A visit to Mathura, the birthplace of Lord Krishna, is also highly recommended. You can also take a side trip to Agra to see the magnificent Taj Mahal. To maximize your fun, try to attend some of the many festivals that take place in Vrindavan throughout the year, like Holi and Janmashtami. Don't forget to try some of the delicious local sweets like peda and gulab jamun.
