2-Day Adventure Itinerary for Wayanad in June 2023

  1. Day 1: Chembra Peak
    50 minutes (20 miles) from Kalpetta

    Morning: Start your day early with a trek to the Chembra Peak, the highest peak in Wayanad. It takes about 2 hours to reach the top, but the picturesque view is worth it. Carry enough water and snacks as there are no shops on the way.

    Afternoon: After the trek, visit the nearby Pookode Lake, a freshwater lake surrounded by forests and hills. You can enjoy a boat ride here or just relax by the lake.

    Evening: End the day with a visit to the Edakkal Caves, a prehistoric site with ancient carvings and paintings. It's a short hike to the caves, but the view from the top is amazing.

  2. Day 2: Banasura Sagar Dam

    Evening: End the day with a visit to the Thirunelli Temple, an ancient temple dedicated to Lord Vishnu. It's located in the midst of a forest and is considered a sacred site by Hindus.
