Kedarnath 5-Day Itinerary

  1. Day 1: Kedarnath Temple
    10 minutes (1.3 miles) from Kedarnath Helipad

    In the morning, we will visit the Kedarnath Temple, one of the four sacred places in Hinduism. The temple is located at an altitude of 3,583 meters and is dedicated to Lord Shiva. Afternoon is free for relaxation and acclimatization. In the evening, we will attend the Ganga Aarti at the riverside.

  2. Day 2: Vasuki Tal Trek
    1 hour (5.4 miles) from Kedarnath Temple

    In the morning, we will trek to Vasuki Tal, a high altitude lake surrounded by majestic mountains and glaciers. The trek is moderately difficult and takes around 4-5 hours. Afternoon is free for relaxation. In the evening, we can explore the local market and try some local delicacies.

  3. Day 3: Sonprayag
    1 hour 30 minutes (20.5 miles) from Vasuki Tal Trek starting point

    In the morning, we will drive to Sonprayag, a scenic spot where the rivers Mandakini and Vasuki Ganga converge. It is believed that a dip in the holy waters of Sonprayag can wash away all sins. Afternoon is free for relaxation. In the evening, we can go for a nature walk and enjoy the beautiful surroundings.

  4. Day 4: Kedartal Trek
    2 hours 30 minutes (34.4 miles) from Sonprayag

    In the morning, we will trek to Kedartal, a glacial lake situated at an altitude of 4,750 meters. The trek is strenuous and takes around 6-7 hours. Afternoon is free for relaxation. In the evening, we can enjoy a bonfire and stargazing.

  5. Day 5: Gandhi Sarovar
    1 hour 15 minutes (9.5 miles) from Kedartal Trek starting point

    In the morning, we will drive to Gandhi Sarovar, a picturesque lake named after Mahatma Gandhi. The lake is surrounded by snow-capped peaks and offers a breathtaking view of the Himalayas. Afternoon is free for relaxation. In the evening, we can have a farewell dinner and share our travel experiences.

If you have an extra day, you can visit the nearby town of Guptkashi and explore its temples and waterfalls. You can also take a helicopter ride to the Kedarnath Temple for a panoramic view of the surrounding mountains.
