2-Day Itinerary for Kedarnath in July 2023

  1. Day 1: Kedarnath Temple
    15 minutes (4.5 km) from Kedarnath Helipad

    Visit the holy Kedarnath Temple in the morning and seek blessings from Lord Shiva. The temple is open from 4 AM to 9 PM every day. Enjoy the serene and peaceful atmosphere of the temple complex. In the afternoon, take a 10-minute walk to Shankaracharya Samadhi, the final resting place of Adi Shankaracharya. In the evening, attend the Ganga Aarti at Kedar Ghat. The Aarti starts at 6:30 PM and is a beautiful and spiritual experience.

  2. Day 2: Vasuki Tal
    1 hour 40 minutes (7 km) from Kedarnath Temple

    Embark on a trek to Vasuki Tal, a serene high-altitude lake situated at an altitude of 4,150 meters. It is believed to be the place where Lord Vishnu took a bath before going to Badrinath. The trek is mildly difficult and takes around 3-4 hours to complete. Start early in the morning to avoid the rush and enjoy the scenic views of the Himalayas. In the afternoon, visit the Bhairava Temple and the Gandhi Sarovar. In the evening, go for a dip in the holy waters of Tapt Kund.
