3-Day Itinerary for Wayanad in July 2023

  1. Day 1: Edakkal Caves
    35 minutes (13.5 km) from Kalpetta

    In the morning, visit the Edakkal Caves, famous for its ancient rock carvings. Enjoy a nature walk to the caves while taking in the scenic beauty that surrounds you. The afternoon can be spent exploring the nearby tribal village of Muttil, where you can witness the traditional lifestyle of the tribal people. In the evening, head to the Pookode Lake, a freshwater lake surrounded by forests, to enjoy a peaceful boat ride.

  2. Day 2: Banasura Sagar Dam and Meenmutty Falls

    Start your day by visiting the Banasura Sagar Dam, the largest earth dam in India. Take a walk around the dam while enjoying the scenic beauty and the cool breeze. In the afternoon, head to the Meenmutty Falls, a beautiful waterfall surrounded by lush green forests. Take a refreshing dip in the pool below the falls.   3. Day 3: Tholpetty Wildlife Sanctuary and Chembra Peak

    Explore the Tholpetty Wildlife Sanctuary in the morning, a must-visit place for nature lovers. Embark on a thrilling jeep safari to spot elephants, leopards, tigers, and other wildlife. In the afternoon, trek to the Chembra Peak, the highest peak in Wayanad. Enjoy the scenic beauty of the surrounding hills while breathing in fresh air. In the evening, relax at the Soochipara Falls, a beautiful three-tiered waterfall that is a perfect spot for picnics.
