Exploring Pune in May 2023

  1. Day 1: Shaniwar Wada Palace
    10 minutes (2.1 km) from Pune Railway Station

    Start your day by visiting Shaniwar Wada Palace, a historical fortification built in the 18th century. Explore the beautiful architecture and learn about its rich history. In the morning, the palace is relatively less crowded, giving you the perfect opportunity to capture some great pictures. Afternoon: Grab a quick bite at one of the many street food stalls outside the palace. Then head to Aga Khan Palace, it's a beautiful palace with serene surroundings. It has significant historical importance and also a place of national importance for India's freedom struggle. Evening: Visit the Pataleshwar Cave Temple, a rock-cut temple dedicated to Lord Shiva. This temple is carved out of a single rock and has beautiful sculptures.

  2. Day 2: Sinhagad Fort
    50 minutes (25 km) from Pune City Centre

    Start your day by visiting Sinhagad Fort, a popular trekking destination. The fort is situated on a hilltop at an altitude of 1,312 meters above sea level. The fort has great historical significance and offers a stunning view of the surrounding hills. Morning: Start your trek early to avoid the crowd and enjoy the pleasant morning breeze. Afternoon: Have lunch at the top of the fort, and enjoy the breathtaking view. Spend some time exploring the fort and learning about its history. Evening: Head to the Dagdusheth Halwai Ganpati Temple, a beautiful temple dedicated to Lord Ganesha. It is one of the most famous temples in Pune and is known for its beautiful architecture and religious significance.
