Two-Day Itinerary for Wayanad

  1. Day 1: Wayanad Wildlife Sanctuary
    25 minutes (8.5 miles) from Kalpetta

    Start your first day in the lush greenery of the Wayanad Wildlife Sanctuary. Go on a jungle safari in the morning to spot wild elephants, tigers, and various species of birds. In the afternoon, take a guided trekking tour to the Chembra Peak, one of the highest peaks in Wayanad. In the evening, indulge in authentic Kerala cuisine at the Bamboo Forest Restaurant which offers a beautiful view of the surrounding hills.

  2. Day 2: Edakkal Caves
    40 minutes (15 miles) from Sulthan Bathery

    Start your second day by exploring the ancient Edakkal Caves which are famous for their prehistoric carvings and rock art. In the morning, take a 1.5-kilometer trek to reach the caves. In the afternoon, visit the Pookode Lake, a natural freshwater lake surrounded by lush greenery. Go for a boat ride or simply enjoy the scenic beauty of the lake. In the evening, visit the Soochipara Falls and take a dip in the cool water. End the day with a delicious meal at the Jubilee Restaurant.

Don't miss out on the Thirunelli Temple, an ancient temple dedicated to Lord Vishnu, located deep in the Brahmagiri Hills. You can also visit the Banasura Sagar Dam, the largest earthen dam in India.
