Vietnam City Experience Itinerary for October 2023

  1. Day 1: Ho Chi Minh City
    15 minutes (3.5km) from Tan Son Nhat International Airport

    In the morning, visit the War Remnants Museum to learn more about the Vietnam War. In the afternoon, go to Ben Thanh Market for some bargain shopping and street food. End the day at Bitexco Financial Tower for a stunning view of Ho Chi Minh City's skyline.

  2. Day 2: Hanoi
    2 hours and 10 minutes (115km) by plane from Ho Chi Minh City

    Start the day at the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum Complex. After, visit the Temple of Literature, the first national university of Vietnam, and learn about the country's education history. In the evening, take a stroll around Hoan Kiem Lake and enjoy the nightlife at Ta Hien beer street.

  3. Day 3: Hue
    1 hour (600m) by plane from Hanoi

    Begin the day at the Imperial City, a UNESCO World Heritage site filled with history. In the afternoon, take a boat ride along the Perfume River and visit the Thien Mu Pagoda. End the day with some authentic Hue cuisine such as bun bo hue or com hen.

Recommendations

If you have more time, consider visiting Sapa for its beautiful rice terraces and hill-tribe villages. A side trip to Halong Bay for a cruise on the emerald waters is also highly recommended. Be sure to try the street food such as banh mi, pho, and banh xeo. Don't forget to bargain with the vendors at the markets!
