Relaxing 3-Day Itinerary for Udaipur in July 2023

  1. Day 1: City Palace
    10 minutes (1.3 miles) from Jagdish Chowk

    In the morning, you will visit the City Palace, a grand palace complex that was once the residence of the Mewar rulers. You will be able to explore the multiple interconnected palaces, courtyards, and gardens. The intricate architecture and vibrant colours of the palace are sure to amaze you. For lunch, you can head to the terrace restaurant at Ambrai Ghat and enjoy a panoramic view of the City Palace and Lake Pichola. In the afternoon, take a boat ride on Lake Pichola to get a closer look at the Jag Mandir Palace and the Lake Palace. In the evening, visit Bagore ki Haveli for an enthralling cultural show.

  2. Day 2: Saheliyon ki Bari and Fateh Sagar Lake
    15 minutes (3.7 miles) from City Palace

    Start your day by visiting the lovely Saheliyon ki Bari, a beautiful garden adorned with fountains, lotus pools, and marble elephants. The garden was built for the women of the royal household. Next, head to Fateh Sagar Lake, a serene lake surrounded by hills. Take a boat ride to the Nehru Park island or sit by the lake and relax. For lunch, you can try the local street food at the Sukhadia Circle. In the afternoon, visit the Vintage Car Museum and admire the collection of classic cars, including Rolls Royce, Cadillac, and Mercedes-Benz. In the evening, take a stroll around the Gangaur Ghat for a beautiful view of Lake Pichola and the surrounding hills.

  3. Day 3: Monsoon Palace and Sajjangarh Wildlife Sanctuary
    30 minutes (8.4 miles) from Fateh Sagar Lake

    On your last day, head to the Monsoon Palace, a hilltop palace that offers a breathtaking view of the city and the Aravalli Range. The palace was built to watch the monsoon clouds. After that, you can visit the Sajjangarh Wildlife Sanctuary, which is home to various animals like panthers, wild boars, and deer. For lunch, you can stop at the Jheel’s Rooftop Restaurant, which offers a lovely view of Lake Pichola. Spend your afternoon exploring the sanctuary and enjoying nature. In the evening, you can go shopping at the Hathi Pol Bazaar and buy some souvenirs to take back home.

If you have more time, you can visit the Eklingji Temple, which is located about 25 km from Udaipur. You can also take a day trip to Kumbhalgarh Fort, which is about 60 km from Udaipur. To maximize your fun, try attending a local festival or event. The Mewar Festival, held in March-April, is a vibrant celebration of the arrival of spring. If you want to pamper yourself, you can visit one of the many luxury spas in Udaipur.
