3-Day Itinerary for Kodaikanal in July 2023

  1. Day 1: Berijam Lake
    25 minutes (12.4 km) from Kodaikanal Lake

    Start your day with a serene boat ride in Berijam Lake, surrounded by lush greenery and misty mountains. Afterward, head to the Guna Caves, a unique natural formation that is believed to have been formed from a meteorite. In the afternoon, visit the Pillar Rocks, a set of three massive rock pillars that stand tall at a height of 400 feet. End your day with a visit to the Bear Shola Falls, a stunning waterfall that is surrounded by lush greenery.

Recommendations

While in Kodaikanal, you might also consider visiting the Kurinji Andavar Temple, a Hindu temple dedicated to Lord Murugan, which is famous for its Kurinji flower that blooms once every 12 years. You might also consider a side trip to Palani, a Hindu pilgrimage town that is home to the Palani Murugan Temple, one of the Arupadaiveedu or six holy abodes of Lord Murugan.

To maximize your fun, you can try paragliding over the valleys or take a trek to the Dolphin's Nose, a breathtaking viewpoint that offers stunning views of the valley and surrounding hills.
