  1. Day 1: Explore Berlin's History

    Morning: Head to the Berlin Wall Memorial and Museum, to learn about the history of the wall and its impact on the city. Afterwards, take a 20-minute walk to the Brandenburg Gate, which has been a symbol of peace and unity since the wall came down.
    Afternoon: Visit the Topography of Terror Museum, which is located a mere 10-minute walk from the Brandenburg Gate. The museum is built on the site of the former Gestapo and SS headquarters, and offers a comprehensive view of Nazi Germany's rise to power and the horrors of the Holocaust.
    Evening: End the day with a traditional German dinner at Zur Letzten Instanz. This historic restaurant has been serving up classic German dishes since 1621 and is just a 15-minute walk from the museum.

  2. Day 2: Discover Berlin's Art and Culture
    24 minutes (3.2 miles) from Zur Letzten Instanz

    Morning: Start the day at the Museum Island, a complex of five world-renowned museums that will take you on a journey through art and culture from ancient times to the present day. Make sure to check the opening times in advance and arrive early to avoid the crowds.
    Afternoon: Head to the trendy neighborhood of Kreuzberg for lunch at Curry 36, a popular fast food joint that serves up the best currywurst in town. After lunch, walk around and explore the street art scene for which Kreuzberg is famous.
    Evening: Finish the day at the Berliner Philharmonie, one of the most acoustically advanced concert halls in the world. Check their schedule in advance and try to catch a performance by the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra.

Recommendations

If you have time, consider visiting the Reichstag building, the Berlin Cathedral, and the Pergamon Museum. For a side trip, take a day trip to the nearby city of Potsdam, which boasts beautiful parks, palaces, and gardens.
