Two-Day Itinerary for Kodaikanal in July 2023: Nature Lover's Paradise

  1. Day 1: Pine Forests and Waterfalls
    10 minutes (2.5 km) from Kodaikanal Bus Stand

    Start your day with a visit to the Pine Forests. This serene forest is perfect for a morning stroll or a picnic. After spending a couple of hours here, head to the nearby Bear Shola Falls for a refreshing dip and stunning views of the waterfall. For lunch, head to the nearby Cloud Street Cafe for some delicious sandwiches and coffee. In the afternoon, visit the magnificent Silver Cascade Falls. You can take a dip in the cool waters or simply take in the view of the waterfall. In the evening, head to Coaker's Walk for a peaceful stroll and a beautiful view of the sunset over the valley.

  2. Day 2: Kodai Lake and Vattakanal

    Start your day with a visit to the Kodai Lake. Rent a paddle boat or a rowboat and spend the morning exploring the lake. Afterward, head to Cafe Cariappa for a quick bite to eat. In the afternoon, head to Vattakanal, also known as "Little Israel". This charming village is home to several cafes, restaurants and shops. Visit the Dolphin's Nose for a stunning view of the valley below. For dinner, head to Altaf's Cafe for some delicious Israeli food. In the evening, catch the sunset at the Rock Pillar and enjoy the peace and quiet of the mountains.

Other local attractions and experiences worth considering are the Berijam Lake, the Guna Caves, and the Pillar Rocks. If you have time, take a day trip to the nearby hill station of Munnar. Don't forget to try some of the local delicacies such as the Kodai Lake fish and the Kodaikanal cheese!
