Honeymoon Itinerary for 4-days in Kathmandu in October 2023

  1. Day 1: Swayambhunath Stupa
    15 minutes (3.1 km) from Tribhuvan International Airport

    Also known as the Monkey temple, the Swayambhunath Stupa is a must-visit attraction in Kathmandu. Admire the stunning architecture of the stupa and enjoy the panoramic view of the city from the top. You can also interact with friendly monkeys that roam around the premises. For a more peaceful visit, come early in the morning.

  2. Day 2: Patan Durbar Square
    40 minutes (10 km) from Swayambhunath Stupa

    Patan Durbar Square is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and an architectural masterpiece. It is the center of Patan city and features ancient temples, palaces, and courtyards. Start your visit at the museum, which has a collection of artifacts and art pieces from the Malla era. Then, explore the square's temples, including the Krishna Mandir and Bhimsen Temple.

  3. Day 3: Boudhanath Stupa
    30 minutes (7.1 km) from Patan Durbar Square

    The Boudhanath Stupa is one of the largest stupas in the world and a UNESCO World Heritage site. It is sacred to Buddhists and has a peaceful and serene atmosphere. You can walk around the stupa while spinning the prayer wheels and observing the prayer flags. The surrounding area has many monasteries and shops selling traditional souvenirs.

  4. Day 4: Everest Mountain Flight
    20 minutes (4 km) from Boudhanath Stupa

    Take a scenic flight over the Himalayas and observe the majestic Mount Everest from a plane. The flight takes off early in the morning and lasts for about an hour. You will also get to see other peaks such as Lhotse, Nuptse, and Cho-Oyu. This is the perfect way to end your honeymoon trip to Kathmandu.

Recommendations

If you have more time in Kathmandu, consider visiting the Pashupatinath Temple, Durbar Squares of Kathmandu and Bhaktapur, and the Garden of Dreams. You can also take a day trip to the Nagarkot Hill Station for a panoramic view of the Himalayas. To maximize your fun, try traditional Nepali cuisine such as momos, dal bhat, and Newari khaja. Make sure to bring comfortable shoes and clothing, a water bottle and sunscreen, as the city can get hot and dusty.
