Kedarnath 7-Day Itinerary in June 2023

  1. Day 1: Kedarnath Temple
    10 minutes (2.2 km) from Kedarnath Helipad

    Start your spiritual journey by visiting the Kedarnath Temple early in the morning. It is one of the Char Dham and holds great significance in Hinduism. Afternoon, head over to Vasuki Tal, a serene lake, and explore the scenic beauty. End the day with a visit to Shankaracharya Samadhi.

  2. Day 2: Chorabari Tal
    1 hour (6.5 km) from Kedarnath Temple

    Embark on a nature trail towards the beautiful Chorabari Tal. The trek to the lake is challenging but worth it. The lake is also known as Gandhi Sarovar and was named in honor of the Father of the Nation, Mahatma Gandhi. Rest of the day is free for relaxation.

  3. Day 3: Bhairav Temple
    10 minutes (650 m) from Kedarnath Temple

    Visit the ancient Bhairav Temple dedicated to Lord Bhairav, an incarnation of Lord Shiva. Later, you can take a dip in the Tapt Kund, a natural hot water spring that is believed to have healing properties. In the evening, take a stroll around the Kedarnath Market and try some local delicacies.

  4. Day 4: Gandhi Sarovar Trek
    2 hours (8.5 km) from Kedarnath Temple

    Today, take a trek to the Gandhi Sarovar and witness the mesmerizing beauty of the lake surrounded by snow-capped mountains. The trek is challenging but the view is breathtaking. Spend the evening relaxing in the Kedarnath valley.

  5. Day 5: Gaurikund
    1 hour 30 minutes (36 km) from Kedarnath Temple

    Explore the town of Gaurikund, the last motorable point before Kedarnath. Visit the Gauri Devi Temple and take a dip in the hot water spring. In the afternoon, visit the Triyuginarayan Temple dedicated to Lord Vishnu and witness the natural beauty of the region.

  6. Day 6: Sonprayag
    39 minutes (20 km) from Kedarnath Temple

    Explore the town of Sonprayag and visit the ancient temple of Lord Raghunathji. Take a dip in the holy waters of the Mandakini River. In the afternoon, visit the Gaurikund Waterfall and enjoy the scenic beauty of the region.

  7. Day 7: Kedar Dome
    2 hours 30 minutes (21.5 km) from Kedarnath Temple

    Take a trek to the Kedar Dome, the highest peak in the region. The trek is strenuous but the view from the top is worth it. Spend the evening in the Kedarnath Market and indulge in some souvenir shopping.

Don't miss out on the opportunity to witness the Ganga Dussehra festival, held in June every year in nearby towns like Haridwar and Rishikesh.
