3-Day Nature Itinerary for Kedarnath in August 2023

  1. Day 1: Kedarnath Temple
    Walking distance from Kedarnath Helipad

    In the morning, we will visit the famous Kedarnath Temple, one of the twelve Jyotirlingas, and an important Hindu pilgrimage site. The temple is located in the midst of the snow-capped Himalayas, and the scenery is breathtaking. After darshan, we will take a leisurely walk around the temple complex. In the afternoon, we will visit Vasuki Tal, a beautiful high altitude lake surrounded by picturesque views of the mountain ranges. We will return to our hotel for dinner and rest.

  2. Day 2: Kedarnath Wildlife Sanctuary
    30 minutes (12.6 km) from Kedarnath Temple

    In the morning, we will visit the Kedarnath Wildlife Sanctuary. The sanctuary is home to a variety of flora and fauna, including musk deer, snow leopard, Himalayan black bear, and many more. We will embark on a nature walk through the sanctuary to explore its beauty. In the afternoon, we will visit Gandhi Sarovar, a serene lake that offers stunning views of the surrounding mountains. We will return to our hotel for dinner and rest.

  3. Day 3: Triyuginarayan Temple
    1 hour 45 minutes (40.1 km) from Kedarnath Wildlife Sanctuary

    In the morning, we will visit the Triyuginarayan Temple, a famous Hindu pilgrimage site and the place where Lord Shiva got married to Goddess Parvati. The temple is surrounded by beautiful mountains, and the nearby Kund offers a scenic view of the valley. In the afternoon, we will visit Deoria Tal, a pristine lake that offers panoramic views of the Himalayas. We will return to our hotel for dinner and rest.

Other local attractions that you can visit include Guptkashi, Sonprayag, and Madmaheshwar Temple. You can also go on a trek to Kedartal, which is a beautiful high altitude lake. If you have an extra day to spare, you can visit Badrinath, another important Hindu pilgrimage site.
