Two-Day Itinerary for Wayanad in June 2023

  1. Day 1: Chembra Peak
    35 minutes (13.2 miles) from Kalpetta

    Chembra Peak is the highest peak in Wayanad and is perfect for trekking enthusiasts. Start your day early and reach the foothills of the peak by 7 AM. The trek to the top of the peak takes about 3 hours, and the panoramic view from the top is breathtaking. After descending, head to the Pookode Lake for a relaxing afternoon. The lake is surrounded by lush greenery and is perfect for boating. In the evening, visit the Edakkal Caves, which are known for their ancient rock carvings.

  2. Day 2: Banasura Sagar Dam
    1 hour 5 minutes (26.2 miles) from Kalpetta

    Start your day by visiting the Banasura Sagar Dam, which is the largest earthen dam in India. You can go boating in the dam and enjoy the serene surroundings. After that, visit the nearby Banasura Hill, which is a great place for trekking. In the afternoon, head to the Wayanad Wildlife Sanctuary, which is home to elephants, tigers, and various other species. Take a jeep safari through the sanctuary and experience the beauty of nature. In the evening, visit the Soochipara Falls, which is a three-tiered waterfall that is perfect for a refreshing dip.
