Bylakuppe Tibetan Settlement is home to the Namdroling Monastery, which is the largest teaching center of the Nyingma lineage of Tibetan Buddhism in the world. In the morning, you can witness the monks performing their prayers and rituals. Afterward, visit the Golden Temple which has three magnificent golden statues of Buddha. Try the traditional Tibetan momos at the nearby cafes. In the evening, take a stroll around the peaceful monastery and learn more about the Tibetan culture and their way of life.
Abbey Falls is a beautiful waterfall surrounded by lush greenery. Spend the morning admiring its beauty and take a rejuvenating dip in the fresh water. Then head to Dubare Elephant Camp to get up close with the gentle giants. Take a boat ride across the Kaveri river to reach the camp. Here, you can observe elephants bathing, feeding, and even get a chance to ride one. Afterward, take a nature walk in the Dubare forest and learn more about the flora and fauna of the region. In the evening, return to your hotel and relax.
If you have time, you can visit the Nagarhole National Park, which is around 2 hours from Dubare Elephant Camp. It is a great place to spot tigers, leopards, and other wildlife. You can also try the local cuisine, which includes dishes like pandi curry (pork curry), bamboo shoot curry, and kadambuttu (rice balls).
