3-Day Family Friendly Udaipur Itinerary in June 2023

  1. Day 1: City Palace
    10 minutes (2.3 km) from Jagdish Temple

    In the morning, visit the City Palace, a majestic palace complex that incorporates a blend of Rajasthani and Mughal architecture. Explore the courtyards, gardens, and numerous halls and rooms which houses a museum of ancient weapons, antiques, and stunning royal apparel. In the afternoon, head to Lake Pichola, located adjacent to the City Palace. Take a boat ride and enjoy breathtaking views of the city and the Aravalli mountains. In the evening, visit Bagore ki Haveli, a historic mansion that has been converted into a museum showcasing traditional Rajasthani art forms such as puppetry, dance, and music.

  2. Day 2: Saheliyon ki Bari
    20 minutes (6.5 km) from Fateh Sagar Lake

    Begin your day by exploring Saheliyon ki Bari, a beautiful garden built by Maharana Sangram Singh for his queen and her attendants. In the afternoon, visit the magnificent Jagdish Temple, located in the heart of the old city. It was built in 1651 and is dedicated to Lord Jagannath. In the evening, head to Fateh Sagar Lake, one of the most picturesque lakes in Udaipur. You can enjoy a boat ride, or just relax and take in the stunning views of the lake and the surrounding hills.

  3. Day 3: Monsoon Palace
    30 minutes (10 km) from Ambrai Ghat

    On your last day, visit the Monsoon Palace, also known as Sajjangarh Palace. Located on a hilltop, it offers panoramic views of the city and surrounding landscapes. The palace was built in the 19th century as a summer resort for the royal family and is a perfect example of Rajasthani architecture. In the afternoon, head to the Shilpgram Art and Craft Village, which showcases the traditional crafts and arts of Rajasthan. In the evening, visit Ambrai Ghat, located on the banks of Lake Pichola. This is a great spot to watch the sunset and enjoy the serene surroundings.

Recommendations

Make sure to visit the Vintage Car Museum, which is located within the premises of the Garden Hotel. Take a day trip to the Kumbhalgarh Fort, located 82 km from Udaipur. It is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and is known for its magnificent architecture and the second longest wall in the world. Don't forget to try the local delicacies such as dal-bati-churma and gatte-ki-sabzi.
