4-Day Adventure Itinerary in Wayanad (June 2023)

  1. Day 1: Trekking in Chembra Peak
    1-hour drive from Kalpetta town

    In the morning, gear up for an exciting trek to Chembra Peak, the highest peak in Wayanad. It is a 3.5 km trek that takes around 2 hours to reach the heart-shaped lake on the top. The panoramic view from the top is breathtaking. After the trek, you can have lunch and relax for a while. In the evening, visit Edakkal Caves, which is a prehistoric site displaying ancient rock art. The caves are located about 30 minutes' drive from Chembra Peak.

  2. Day 2: Bamboo Rafting in Kuruva Island
    1-hour drive from Kalpetta town

    In the morning, head to Kuruva Island, an uninhabited island on the Kabini River. The island is a natural paradise with lush greenery and streams. Experience the thrill of bamboo rafting along the river, which takes around 2 to 3 hours. After lunch, visit Thirunelli Temple, an ancient temple dedicated to Lord Vishnu. It is located in the Brahmagiri Hills and is famous for its beautiful architecture. In the evening, return to your hotel and relax.

  3. Day 3: Rock Climbing and Rappelling in Soochipara Falls

    In the morning, head to Muthanga Wildlife Sanctuary for a thrilling wildlife safari. The sanctuary is home to a variety of animals including elephants, tigers, leopards, and deer. The safari takes around 2 hours. After the safari, visit Banasura Sagar Dam, which is the largest earth dam in India. It is surrounded by mountains and forests and offers a scenic view. After lunch, return to your hotel to pack and depart for your next destination.
