Varkala 4-Day Itinerary in June 2023

  1. Day 1: Varkala Beach
    10 minutes (3.2 km) from Varkala Cliff

    In the morning, relax on the beautiful white sand beach and take a dip in the turquoise waters. After lunch, go for a leisurely walk along the cliff and enjoy the stunning views of the Arabian Sea. In the evening, watch the sunset from one of the many beachside cafes while sipping on a refreshing drink.

  2. Day 2: Kappil Beach
    12 minutes (5.6 km) from Varkala Beach

    Start your day with a visit to the serene Kappil Beach, located just a short drive away. Take a boat ride on the backwaters or simply relax on the beach. After lunch, head to the Anjengo Fort which was built by the British East India Company in the 17th century. In the evening, watch the sunset from the nearby lighthouse.

  3. Day 3: Janardanaswamy Temple
    20 minutes (7.8 km) from Kappil Beach

    In the morning, visit the ancient Janardanaswamy Temple which is dedicated to Lord Vishnu and is a popular pilgrimage site for Hindus. After lunch, head to the Varkala Aquarium to see a variety of marine life. In the evening, visit the Varkala Art Village to see local artists at work and to buy souvenirs.

  4. Day 4: Sivagiri Mutt
    15 minutes (6.5 km) from Janardanaswamy Temple

    Start your day with a visit to the Sivagiri Mutt, a spiritual and cultural center founded by the great social reformer Sree Narayana Guru. After lunch, head to the Ponnumthuruthu Island, a small island located in the backwaters and home to a beautiful Shiva temple. In the evening, relax on the beach and enjoy your last sunset in Varkala.
