2-Day Itinerary for Dwarka, Gujarat in November 2023

  1. Day 1: Dwarkadhish Temple
    5 minutes (0.3 miles) from Hotel Narayan Inn

    The morning begins with a visit to Dwarkadhish Temple, a Hindu temple dedicated to Lord Krishna. The temple boasts of a beautiful architecture dating back to the 16th century. You can witness the morning aarti which takes place at 7 AM, and then proceed to explore the temple complex and its intricate carvings. The temple is open from 6:30 AM to 1 PM and 5 PM to 9:30 PM, and it takes around 2 hours to explore the temple properly.

  2. Day 1: Rukmini Devi Temple
    10 minutes (1.2 miles) from Dwarkadhish Temple

    The Rukmini Devi Temple is a beautiful temple dedicated to the wife of Lord Krishna and is situated on the banks of the Gomti River. The temple is open from 7 AM to 12 PM and 4 PM to 7 PM. You can spend around 1 hour exploring the temple and its surroundings. Enjoy a boat ride on the Gomti River and visit the nearby Bhadkeshwar Mahadev Temple.

  3. Day 1: Gomti Ghat
    5 minutes (0.4 miles) from Rukmini Devi Temple

    Gomti Ghat is a sacred place where pilgrims take a dip in the Gomti River before visiting the temples. You can walk along the ghat, watch the sunrise or sunset, and witness the evening aarti ceremony. Spend around 1 hour exploring the ghat and its surroundings.

  4. Day 2: Beyt Island
    1 hour (26 miles) from Hotel Narayan Inn

    Beyt Island, also known as Bet Dwarka, is around 30 km from Dwarka and can be reached via a ferry ride from Okha port. The island is home to various temples and a beautiful beach. You can visit the Nageshwar Jyotirlinga Temple, Rukshamanee Mandir, and the famous Hanuman Dandi Temple. It takes around 4-5 hours to explore the island properly, and you can also enjoy a picnic lunch on the beach or in the nearby restaurants.

  5. Day 2: Gopi Talav
    30 minutes (10 miles) from Beyt Island

    Gopi Talav is a beautiful lake situated around 20 km from Dwarka and is believed to be the place where Lord Krishna danced with the Gopis. The lake has a beautiful architecture and is surrounded by a garden. Spend around 1 hour exploring the lake and its surroundings.

Recommendations

If you have an extra day in Dwarka, you can visit the Somnath Temple, which is a famous Shiva temple situated around 200 km from Dwarka. You can also explore the nearby towns of Porbandar and Somnath. For maximizing your fun, carry a sunscreen lotion, comfortable walking shoes, and a hat/cap. You can also try the local street food and sweets in Dwarka.
