  1. Day 1: Qutub Minar
20 minutes (9.8 km) from Indira Gandhi International Airport

Qutub Minar, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is the tallest brick minaret in the world, standing at 73 metres high. Spend your morning exploring the complex and learning about its rich history, including the many kings who contributed to its construction. In the afternoon, head to the nearby Mehrauli Archaeological Park, which houses over 100 historically significant monuments. End your day at the nearby Hauz Khas Village, a trendy neighbourhood filled with a variety of restaurants, bars, and boutiques.

  2. Day 2: Red Fort
30 minutes (12.5 km) from Qutub Minar

Start your morning at the iconic Red Fort, a stunning example of Mughal architecture. Explore the palaces, museums, and gardens within the complex, and don't miss the daily sound and light show in the evening. In the afternoon, visit the nearby Jama Masjid, one of the largest mosques in India, and enjoy panoramic views of the city from its minarets. End your day with a visit to Chandni Chowk, one of the oldest and busiest markets in Old Delhi, for a sensory overload of sights, sounds, and smells.

Recommendations

If you have extra time, consider visiting Humayun's Tomb, another stunning example of Mughal architecture, or Akshardham, a massive Hindu temple complex. You can also take a day trip to Agra to see the iconic Taj Mahal. To maximize your fun, be sure to try some of the delicious street food available throughout the city, such as chaat and parathas.
