Relaxing 3-Day Itinerary for Coorg in June 2023

  1. Day 1: Abbey Falls
    30 minutes (10 miles) from Coorg city center

    In the morning, take a 30-minute drive to Abbey Falls. The falls are at their best during the monsoon season, so June is a great time to visit. Enjoy the 10-minute walk to the falls and take in the stunning views. Spend the afternoon relaxing and picnicking by the falls. In the evening, head back to Coorg city center for dinner at The Falls or Tiger Tiger.

  2. Day 2: Dubare Elephant Camp
    1 hour (25 miles) from Abbey Falls

    In the morning, drive for about an hour to the Dubare Elephant Camp. This camp offers a great opportunity to watch and interact with elephants. You can take a scenic walk, go on a river rafting adventure, or simply unwind in the beautiful landscape. In the afternoon, head to Nisargadhama, a serene island filled with bamboo groves, deer, and peacocks. In the evening, enjoy a traditional Kodava meal at Raintree or Taste of Coorg.

  3. Day 3: Namdroling Monastery
    1 hour (30 miles) from Dubare Elephant Camp

    In the morning, take a drive to the Namdroling Monastery. This Buddhist temple is one of the largest in the country and is home to thousands of monks. Spend some time exploring the stunning architecture and beautiful gardens. In the afternoon, head to the Chiklihole Reservoir for boating or fishing. End the day with dinner at Coorg Cuisine or East End Hotel.

Recommendations

If you have time, consider visiting the Talacauvery, the birthplace of the Cauvery river. It's a beautiful scenic spot and a great place for a picnic. For a side trip, visit the Nagarhole National Park, which is home to a large population of tigers and elephants. To maximize fun, try some of the delicious local coffee and spices. Coorg is famous for its coffee plantations and spice estates, so you can't leave without tasting some authentic flavors.
