3-Day Ooty Itinerary for October 2023

  1. Day 1: Ooty Botanical Gardens
    10 minutes (1.3 miles) from Ooty Lake

    In the morning, start your trip by visiting the Ooty Botanical Gardens. Spread across 55 acres, this garden is home to a vast collection of plants, including rare species. Take a leisurely stroll through the park and enjoy the tranquillity and beauty of the place. Afternoon is the perfect time to visit the Rose Garden, the adjacent park famous for its roses and other flowers. In the evening, head to Thread Garden, which features artificial flowers and plants made of thread.

  2. Day 2: Dodabetta Peak
    30 minutes (10.5 miles) from Ooty Botanical Gardens

    Start your day with a visit to the Dodabetta Peak, Ooty's highest point. Take in the breathtaking panoramic view of the Nilgiri Hills from the summit. If you're lucky, you may also spot some exotic bird species here. In the afternoon, visit the Government Museum, which showcases tribal art and artefacts, colonial artefacts, and natural history exhibits. In the evening, take a stroll around Ooty Lake and enjoy the serene atmosphere.

  3. Day 3: Pykara Waterfalls
    1 hour (12.8 miles) from Dodabetta Peak

    On your last day, visit Pykara Waterfalls in the morning. This waterfall is located in the Pykara village and is a popular tourist destination. You can enjoy boating in Pykara Lake and trekking in the Pykara valley. In the afternoon, head to the St. Stephen's Church, a beautiful colonial-era church built-in 1820. In the evening, visit the Tea Museum, which is located at the Doddabetta Tea Factory, and learn about the history of tea in India.
