Mathura City Experience in June 2023

  1. Day 1: Shri Krishna Janmasthan
    5 minutes (0.5 miles) from Mathura Junction Railway Station

    The Shri Krishna Janmasthan is a must-visit for anyone visiting Mathura. It is believed to be the birthplace of Lord Krishna and houses a temple, a mosque and a prison where it is said that the Lord was born. In the morning, you can witness the Mangala Aarti and offer prayers at the temple. In the afternoon, take a stroll around the premises and visit the museum that showcases the life of Lord Krishna. In the evening, attend the Sandhya Aarti that is a sight to behold.

  2. Day 2: Vishram Ghat
    10 minutes (1.2 miles) from Shri Krishna Janmasthan

    The Vishram Ghat is a beautiful ghat situated on the banks of the river Yamuna. It is believed that Lord Krishna took rest here after slaying the demon Kansa. In the morning, take a dip in the holy waters of the river and participate in the morning aarti. In the afternoon, enjoy a boat ride on the river Yamuna and take in the scenic beauty that surrounds you. In the evening, attend the grand aarti that takes place at the ghat.

If you have the time, do visit the Dwarkadhish Temple that is located close to the Shri Krishna Janmasthan. You can also take a trip to the nearby town of Vrindavan that is known for its many temples dedicated to Lord Krishna. To maximize your fun, try out the local delicacies like the famous pedas and the lassi that Mathura is known for. Don't forget to haggle at the local markets for some great deals on souvenirs. Lastly, be sure to take care of your belongings and avoid visiting crowded places during peak hours.
