3-Day Adventure Itinerary in Ooty

  1. Day 1: Doddabetta Peak

  2. Day 2: Avalanche Lake
    1 hour 20 minutes (25 miles) from Doddabetta Peak

    Morning: Take a jeep safari to the Avalanche Lake, located 28 km from Ooty. The bumpy ride through the forest offers an adventurous experience as you spot various wildlife species such as elephants, bison, and deer.

    Afternoon: Enjoy some trout fishing at the Emerald Dam, located near the Avalanche lake. Fishing permits can be obtained at the forest office in Ooty.

    Evening: Head to the Pykara Waterfalls for some trekking and boating. The waterfall is surrounded by lush green forests, and the boat ride offers breathtaking views of the mountains and the Pykara Dam.

  3. Day 3: Glenmorgan Trek
    1 hour 20 minutes (26 miles) from Avalanche Lake

    Morning: Embark on a scenic trek to Glenmorgan, located 25 km from Ooty. The trail takes you through tea plantations, dense forests, and rolling hills. The trek is challenging, but the views of the Nilgiris and the Moyar river valley make it all worthwhile.

    Afternoon: Visit the Needle Rock Viewpoint, located 9 km from Glenmorgan. The viewpoint offers panoramic views of the surrounding valleys and hills.

    Evening: Take a stroll through the Botanical Gardens, which houses a diverse range of flora and fauna species. The garden is spread over 55 acres and includes a fossil tree that is believed to be more than 20 million years old.

If you have more time, visit the Mudumalai Wildlife Sanctuary, located 64 km from Ooty, for a chance to spot tigers, leopards, and other wildlife.
