Three Days Itinerary for Coorg in June 2023

  1. Day 1: Abbey Falls
    30 minutes (9.3 km) from Madikeri

    Start your day by visiting one of the most beautiful waterfalls in Coorg - Abbey Falls. Surrounded by coffee plantations and spice estates, the misty falls offer a serene ambiance. Take a refreshing dip in the pond and enjoy the lush green surroundings. Afternoon, explore the surrounding coffee plantations and spice estates, where you can learn about the coffee-making process, and sample some of the finest Coorg coffee. In the evening, head to Raja's Seat, a famous sunset point with breathtaking views of the valley.

  2. Day 2: Talakaveri and Bhagamandala
    2 hours (49.2 km) from Madikeri

    Start your day early and head towards Talakaveri, the source of the River Kaveri. The beautiful temple and the surrounding hills offer a mesmerizing view. Afternoon, head to Bhagamandala, situated at the confluence of three rivers - Kaveri, Kannika, and Sujyoti. Visit the Bhagandeshwara Temple, which houses a unique lingam that changes colour throughout the day. In the evening, head back to Madikeri and explore the local market for some souvenirs.

  3. Day 3: Dubare Elephant Camp and Nisargadhama
    1 hour 30 minutes (44.4 km) from Madikeri

    Start your day by visiting the Dubare Elephant Camp, where you can feed, bathe and ride elephants. Afternoon, head towards Nisargadhama, a beautiful island formed by the River Cauvery. The thick bamboo groves, sandalwood, and teak trees offer a serene ambiance. Enjoy a leisurely walk on the hanging bridge, take a boat ride, or indulge in some adventure activities like zip lining. In the evening, head back to Madikeri and enjoy a traditional Coorg meal.

If you have time, do visit the Iruppu Falls, located near Nagarhole National Park. You can also go for a safari at Nagarhole National Park and explore the rich flora and fauna of Coorg. For adventure enthusiasts, trek to Tadiandamol Peak, the highest peak in Coorg, is a must-do. You can also visit the Tibetan settlement at Bylakuppe, which houses the Namdroling Monastery, the largest teaching center of the Nyingma lineage of Tibetan Buddhism in the world.
