Kedarnath 6-Day Itinerary in July 2023

  1. Day 1: Kedarnath Temple
    10 minutes (0.5 km) from Kedarnath Bus Stand

    In the morning, visit the famous Kedarnath Temple, one of the twelve Jyotirlingas of Lord Shiva. Spend the evening around the Kedarnath town, exploring the local markets.

  2. Day 2: Gandhi Sarovar
    14 minutes (4.1 km) from Kedarnath Temple

    Start your day with an early breakfast and then head towards Gandhi Sarovar, which is a lake at a height of 14,000 feet above sea level. The trek is a bit challenging, but the magnificent views of the Himalayas make it worth it. Return to Kedarnath by evening to explore the town's street food scene.

  3. Day 3: Sonprayag

Spend your evening around the lake camping and stargazing.

  6. Day 6: Kedarnath Wildlife Sanctuary
    2 hours 30 minutes (60 km) from Deoria Tal

    Explore the Kedarnath Wildlife Sanctuary, a beautiful national park known for its diverse flora and fauna. The sanctuary covers an area of 975 square kilometers and is home to several endangered species like Himalayan black bear, snow leopard, musk deer, and more. Afternoon, return to Kedarnath and explore the local markets and food scene.

If you have an extra day, visit the nearby town of Guptkashi, famous for its temples and scenic beauty. You can also take a side trip to Auli, a beautiful hill station known for skiing and trekking.
