Two-Day Nature Itinerary for Ooty in June 2023

  1. Day 1: Ooty Lake
    10 minutes (2.5 km) from Ooty Bus Stand

    In the morning, enjoy a peaceful walk around the serene Ooty Lake. You can also take a boat ride to explore the lake's surroundings. Afternoon is the best time to visit the lake as the weather is pleasant, and you can enjoy the breeze. In the evening, the sunset view is mesmerizing from the lake's boathouse.

  2. Day 1: Government Botanical Garden
    20 minutes (4.8 km) from Ooty Lake

    Stroll through the stunning Government Botanical Garden in the morning. The garden is home to a variety of plants, including rare species. The garden is well-maintained with colorful flowers and beautiful landscapes. After lunch, visit the Toda Mund, a traditional village nearby. In the evening, head to the Ooty Rose Garden, located just 2 km from the botanical garden, to witness the beauty of various rose species.

  3. Day 2: Doddabetta Peak
    30 minutes (10.3 km) from Government Botanical Garden

    Start early and head towards the Doddabetta Peak, the highest point in the Nilgiri Mountains. Enjoy a beautiful sunrise view from the top and take a sip of tea from the tea shop. After breakfast, visit the Pykara Lake and Waterfalls, situated just 22 km from the Doddabetta Peak. In the evening, visit the St. Stephen's Church, located in the heart of the town, to witness the beautiful architecture and peaceful ambiance.

Do not miss the toy train ride from Ooty to Coonoor, which is a UNESCO World Heritage site, and enjoy the beautiful view of the Nilgiri Mountains. If you have an extra day, you can visit the Mudumalai Wildlife Sanctuary, located just 35 km from Ooty, to witness the wildlife and enjoy the safari ride.
