2-Day Adventure Itinerary for Kedarnath in June 2023

  1. Day 1: Kedarnath Temple
    Located in Kedarnath

    Start your adventure in Kedarnath with a visit to the famous Kedarnath Temple. It is one of the twelve Jyotirlingas and is a sacred destination for Hindus. In the morning, you can attend the temple's morning aarti, followed by a trek to the Vasuki Tal. Afternoon could be spent visiting the Bhairavnath Temple. In the evening, take a stroll around Kedarnath town and enjoy a cup of tea at any of the local tea shops.

  2. Day 2: Chorabari Tal
    Located in Guptkashi, 20 minutes (5 km) from Kedarnath Temple

    The Chorabari Tal, also known as the Gandhi Sarovar, is a serene lake surrounded by snow-capped mountains. In the morning, take a trek to the lake, which is approximately 3 kilometres away from the Guptkashi town. Afternoon can be spent river rafting in the Mandakini River. In the evening, you can enjoy a bonfire with your friends and family in the campsites near the river.

Apart from the above-mentioned places, you can also consider visiting the Kedarnath Wildlife Sanctuary, which is home to various species of animals and birds. If you have time, you can plan a day trip to the nearby hill station of Chopta, which is famous for its scenic beauty and trekking trails. Don't forget to carry comfortable shoes, warm clothes and raincoats as the weather can be unpredictable in the mountains.
